Couple of imports this go around, one Italian the other Russian. The second feature most infamously for Francis Ford Coppola’s re-editing and inserting a monster fight into Nebo zovyot, whose monsters are so hilarious phallic in a TAb-A goes into Slot-B sense that one can only watch and boggle.

Man, those character descriptions are hoot and a half … After the surprising financial success of their first hell-razin’ outlaw biker flick, Roger Corman immediately followed up The Wild Angels with another sordid tale of motorized hooligans. Based loosely on a Monterey, California, incident back in 1965, where several members of the Hell’s Angels were accused, arrested, and later acquitted on several rape charges, Devil’s Angels came to the same conclusion for the fictionalized Skulls club — but then deviates rather radically on the biker’s reaction to being railroaded by local law-enforcement. Needless to say, the locals didn’t “Stay out of their way…”

i.ashx - CopyWay back in June of 2010, the fine folk behind the magnificent She Blogged by Night held The Shatnerthon!, a tribute to the great William Tiberius Shatner. Scenes from the Morgue heeded the call and participated back then, and now, to celebrate Wild Bill’s birthday this weekend, it was high time we migrated those ads over to the new site plus a few more treats mixed in. Enjoy.

Roger Corman exploited many a genre over the years, some better than others. The Slumber Party Massacre is a complete goof with a refreshing all-female twist behind and (mostly) in front of the camera. I had fond memories of it, but when I dusted it off and showed some friends awhile back it landed with a thud. That’s me shrugging right now. Could be worse, though. Could be Sorority House Massacre. *bleaurgh*
