Sure, to get to that huge, almost operatic chase scene at the end of H.B. Halicki’s Gone in 60 Seconds, a viewer has to endure the first half of the movie that kinda spends its time grinding gears, but, believe me, it’s worth the effort for the resulting carnage and road-rash that takes up all the second half of the movie, where an average of three cars a minute are sent to the big junkyard in the sky. As for our second feature, we’ve got another American International counter-culture extravaganza when a hippy, a hobo and a teen-aged runaway stick out their thumbs for a ride to the promised land in sunny California.
